Athleisure is here to stay. But..

'Athleisure' entered our lexicon a few years ago. Initially, some questioned the look; does leisure equate to not caring? The mainstream fashion enthusiasts, like Tim Gunn, would attest that "That's the thing about overly casual dressing... It says: 'I don't give a rat's ass about anything.'"

But, it seems a few years have proven the truth to be quite the opposite. In fact, I would say that athelisure wear is the ultimate fashion choice for those who do care about the way they look, how they're perceived, and the image they project.

After all, exercise classes like Barry's and Soul Cycle are a fitting opportunity to show your peers how confident you can be, while sweating on a treadmill, lifting weights, and looking hot(t). This fashion wear has found staying power in every social situation from the gym, to Sunday morning coffee, to office meetings.

Although the 'Ath' may vanish as quickly as it came, the 'leisure' will find its way in to everything sooner or later. Leisure is comfort, and we all want an excuse to be more comfortable.

Dress shoes will certainly be next and will actually open the door to formal wear being more accessible than ever before.
