The Cupsole Method

We currently use foxing exclusively on our shoes. Foxing is the wrap that goes around the base-- it attaches the bottom to the upper. We use foxing because they typically provides more flexability than the alternative.

The alternative is the cupsole method, which is single piece sole bottom that connects directly to the upper. The cupsole method is a single piece injection rubber that functions as both the bottom and the wrap. A cupsole helps with production because it requires less labor to apply.

We think there's room to improve the bespoke shoe market with cupsoles. These shoes are typically mass produced and don't have the same bespoke aesthetic that a boutique shoe design has. Stay tuned for more news on this. We're pushing to get this line out for next season.
