Slip Lasting

Lasting is the process of forming the shoe. It's when the Upper (the top of the shoe) is pulled over the shoe form and attached to an outsole on the bottom.

Along the way, there are different processes that can be used. One of those processes is called slip-lasting, which is done by sewing the midsole directly in to the Upper. This way, there's less work needed to actually form the shoe.

It's a quicker way of doing an otherwise lengthy, labor-intensive process.

Specialized equipment and materials are needed for this, which is what our R&D team is focused on right now. Increasing efficiency while scaling is top-of-mind right now.

This is in conjunction with the other equipment which is slowly flowing in as we speak.
